Hear My Work

The Road Again

The Road Again is a song I wrote, engineered, and produced for my music project, The Hidden Gold.

It was recorded and mixed in my home studio in Victoria, BC, and features acoustic and electric guitar, bass, (virtual) drums, and other production elements. The sound of the recording is reminiscent of alternative rock from the '90s, a big inspiration of mine, and was mastered by Darryl Lee Wood at Capella Starway.

Why Can't I Get Over You

Linda Raine is a singer-songwriter out of Leamington, Ontario, and a part of my songwriting mastermind, Songfarm.

When she played a working version of Why Can't I Get Over You for us live on one of our virtual Songcircles, I expressed interest in working with her to record it. To my surprise, Linda reached out a couple of weeks later to see if I'd help her produce the song. We connected over Google Meet to review lyrics and structure, and after a couple of tweaks, I sent over a rough demo.

After agreeing on the final lyric and song form, I recorded the acoustic guitar, added drums, bass, organ, and a lead electric guitar. I sent a mix over to Linda, where she recorded the vocals remotely. After requesting a few more additional vocals, including doubling some of the vocal lines, I finalized the mix and production in my Victoria, BC studio, sending the final mix to Darryl Lee Wood of Capella Stairway to master it.
